We like to justify our stupidity and we can come up with dumb excuses to do dumb things. The problem with this is not the situation itself but the fact that we find our idiocy socially acceptable. We have this insatiable need to be noticed. I'm saying this because I was reading the newspaper this afternoon and I came up on this article concerning a halloween party with a "pimp and ho" theme. Now, what's the purpose? To glorify a profession that is illegal in most states and not of God anywhere, anytime. Think about this. How many women have died at the hands of a pimp or because of a situation brought on because of a pimp? How many marriages have been destroyed because of prostitution? How many unwanted babies were brought into this world due to illicit affairs and how many babies were raised to believe that this lifestyle was the norm? With that in mind, why do we want to celebrate something with such a negative history? I don't get it. A spokesperson for a nightclub here in Chicago made an interesting statement in today's paper saying that the term "ho" (which is slang for whore) is another way of saying a female is sexy. That is dumb beyond comprehension. I will never take something that is derogatory and try to make it into something that it isn't. When will this madness end?
